What we collect, and why we keep it.

FernBytes is a technology services practice providing software engineering, security, infrastructure, integration, and automation services. In this policy, “we” and “us” refer to FernBytes.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to answer you and to run our services.

• Contact details you submit through our enquiry form or send by email, such as name, company, email address, and phone number.
• The content of your enquiry, including anything you tell us about your systems or requirements.
• Basic technical information from your visit, such as browser type, device type, and pages viewed.
• Recruitment information you send when applying for a role, including your CV and any supporting material.

3. Why we use it

We use your information to reply to enquiries, to prepare proposals, to deliver and support work you have engaged us for, to assess job applications, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing.

4. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses only the cookies needed for the site to function, along with aggregate analytics that help us understand which pages are useful. Analytics data is not used to identify individuals.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Doing so does not prevent you from reading the site.

5. Sharing and processors

We share information only where it is necessary to operate: hosting, email, and analytics providers acting on our instructions, and professional advisers where required.

Where a project requires access to your systems, that access is governed by the agreement covering the engagement, not by this policy.

6. Retention

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return to the conversation. Project records are retained for the life of the engagement and the period our obligations require afterwards. Recruitment material is deleted or, with your consent, retained for future openings.

7. Security

We hold information on reputable hosted services with access limited to the people who need it. Access is protected by strong authentication, and we review who holds access periodically. No system is entirely without risk, and we will tell you promptly if an incident affects your information.

8. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we have no obligation to keep it. You can also object to particular uses.
